Obituary of Terry A Alston, Jr.
Please share a memory of Terry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Terry Alston Jr, affectionately known as “Yah Yah” was born on February 28th, 1991, in Woodbury New Jersey. He was born to Angel Harbison and Terry Alston Sr. God graciously called Terry home on December 27th, 2024.
Growing up Terry was very studious and outgoing person. He attended many schools within the Camden city school district. In school, he was an excelling honor student inducted into the national honor society. Terry graduated with honors from Camden Academy Charter High-school in 2009. Not only was he a scholar in his education, he was a star in many extracurricular activities. He participated in many hobbies such as skating, dance, track and field (Willingboro track club & Camden High), Camden High Band as Band as Drum Major, Drill Team (CSS & Distinguished Brothers), and more.
Along with his accolades in school he was also a very hardworking individual. He started his working career with many different retail stores but later found a career in traveling that lit a spark in his life. He fell in love with the idea of becoming a flight attendant and soon later turned this dream to reality in 2016.
After he completed flight attendant school, he joined the JetBlue family, eventually transferring to American Airlines in 2017. Terry shared his infectious smile and personality with the American Airline family for 8 long years leaving behind broken hearts of everyone he encountered. His passions and dreams didn’t stop there. He continuously proved and showed that the sky was the limit. Terry pushed himself to his highest potential attending and successfully completing the Cadet Pilot Academy. During this time Terry was given many opportunities to learn, teach, and exemplify his skills and knowledge of planes as a Pilot.
Terry held traveling very close to his heart. He was very adventurous and was excited to experience new things and places. But two things he loved just as much was his family and his God he served. At an early age Terry was baptized and attended New Wesley A.M.E Zion alongside his mother. Terry cherished his family and made sure to support and love those around him, even his friends that turned into family.
Terry is preceded in death by his grandparents Bernard Thomas, Edwin & Helen Hitchens, and uncle Dennis Hitchens. He leaves to cherish his parents Angel Harbison and Terry Alston Sr, grandmother Blanch Thomas great aunt Martha, special aunts: Danielle, Pandora (Larry), Tracy, uncles: Darryl, Colby, Zack, and Tony; siblings: Lavonne (Spence), Timmy, Qiana, twin Shaterri. He also leaves his nieces: La’Nya, Timmyha (Meliya), Timnaysha (Kamari), Myesha, Brooklyn, Mi’lani, A’nylah, Justtice, Meirakle, nephews: Malik, Major, Ibn, special friend Antonio, his beloved fur-babies Cornelius, Princess, & Sage, and a host of family and friends.
