Sylvia Regina Morris was born in West Philadelphia July 8, 1942. She was the first child of Merton and Ruby Lawrence who raised a supportive and loving family of four girls and two boys. Sylvia was the oldest and often helped, guided and supported her younger siblings and carried this supportive initiative throughout her life.
Sylvia met and married Clarence Morris and out of this union was born Camille Regina Morris. She later gave birth to Gregory Davidson Morris.
Sylvia received her BA from Jefferson University in Philadelphia. With her medical background, she worked at Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia for 30 years where she became the night shift manager.
Sylvia loved singing and was a member of the New Jersey Sound Chorus. She later joined The Red Hat Ladies Society whose mission was friendship, freedom and fun. She loved traveling and would take those opportunities whenever possible.
Sylvia leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Camille Lake, and son-in-law, Tim Lake; her three sisters Rebecca Kelly, Diana Lawrence and Carol Lawrence and two brothers Merton Bruce Lawrence and David Lawrence; nine nieces and nephews; 6 grandnieces and grandnephews and a host of cousins and friends.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her son Gregory Davidson Morris and her mother and father Ruby and Merton Lawrence.
