he Day God Took You Home
In tears we saw you leaving, and watched you fade away.
Our hearts were almost broken; we wanted you to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free from pain.
How could we wish you with us, to suffer pain again.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.

Carrie Bell Williams (Gough) was born on Saturday, January 08, 1927, in Gough, Georgia. She accepted Christ as her Savior early in life and carried her faith with grace and strength throughout her journey.
Carrie was known for her boundless love and compassion, always placing her family at the center of her life; even in the face of adversity. She was a mother with a big heart. She was well known for her friendly smile and warm greetings. She was a conversationalist who was well versed in many phases of life. She had a gift for connecting with people of all ages, often surprising them with her sharp wit and warm sense of humor. Her feisty spirit will be missed.
A devoted churchgoer, Carrie especially loved singing "Happy Birthday" to her children, a cherished tradition that brought joy to every celebration. She found great pleasure in cooking, playing pinochle with family and friends, and simply spending time surrounded by those she loved most.
Affectionately known as Mom, Mom Carrie, and Nana, she leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and faith. Carrie is preceded in death by the man who truly loved her, three of her four children, and two grandchildren who lovingly called her "Mom."
