Obituary of Margie R McIntosh

Please share a memory of Margie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margie Rhea (Wilson) McIntosh was born on June 5, 1948, to Joseph and Maude Wilson in Colerain, North Carolina. Margie was the oldest of four children: John, Dorothy Mae, and Joseph (J.T.). She was called home to be with the Lord on May 7, 2025, at 76 years of age. Margie was a gifted student who graduated from High School at just 15 years old. She went on to attend Shaw University in North Carolina, where she majored in Mathematics. It was during her time at Shaw that she met and married her husband, Kenneth McIntosh. After earning her degree, she moved to Camden, New Jersey, to begin what would become a lifelong and impactful career in education with the Camden City Board of Education. Margie began teaching in the Camden City School District, where she quickly became known for her dedication to her students and her passion for learning. She furthered her own education by earning a Master’s Degree in Education from Rutgers University and pursued doctoral studies, reflecting her deep commitment to academic excellence. After teaching for many years, Margie was promoted to serve as an Administrator in the district’s Office of Federal and State Funding, where she continued to advocate for resources and support for schools and students across the city. She retired early, leaving behind a legacy of service, leadership, and love for education. Teaching was more than a profession to Margie—it was a calling. Her students knew her not just as a teacher, but as a mentor and a steadfast supporter. She often went above and beyond, offering help and encouragement long after the school day ended. Her influence stretched across generations, inspiring countless young minds and even guiding her own children to pursue paths in education. For Margie, teaching was one of life’s greatest honors, and she spoke often of how profoundly it enriched her spirit. Margie’s life was a beautiful testament to compassion, dedication, and quiet strength. Whether she was tending to her beloved garden, nurturing her thriving collection of indoor plants, solving sudoku puzzles, or welcoming friends and family to the kitchen table - the true heart of her home - Margie found joy in life’s simple moments. Her love for music and regular shopping trips brought her personal delight, but it was her time spent with others, offering a listening ear or sharing a meal, that revealed the depth of her warmth. A devoted member of Living Word Bible Fellowship in Blackwood, NJ, Margie lived her faith through service. She gave generously to numerous charities and was always quick to lend a hand, whether within her church, her community, or her classroom. Margie was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her time on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and an unwavering faith in God. Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of her family, friends, students, and the many others whose lives she so lovingly touched. She leaves to cherish her memory: her lifelong friend and the father of her children, Kenneth McIntosh; her two daughters and their spouses, Tia McIntosh (Michelle Webster) and Kenethia McIntosh Fuller (Sam Fuller); her beloved grandchildren, Addison, Kihirha, and Shayonna; and her bonus grandchildren, Sarai, Michaiah, Jeremiah, and Jermaine. She is also survived by her two brothers, John Wilson and Joseph Wilson, Jr. (Donna); her sister, Dorothy Mae Morring; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry her spirit with them always. Her work on earth is done, and she now rests in the arms of her Savior, surrounded by the peace and glory of Heaven. There, she is reunited with beloved family and friends who have gone before her, waiting to welcome her home.
