Obituary of Junior Jenerette
Please share a memory of Junior to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Junior Jenerette Sr. was born to the late Idell Jenerette on February 2, 1931, in Bayboro, S.C. As a young man he moved to Philadelphia, PA with his Aunt Reba Alexander.
"Bobby or "BB" as he was affectionately known as was educated in the South Carolina Public School System. Bobby was joined in holy matrimony to Willow Dean Bland on February 16, 1952; and to this union four children were born. Years later Bobby met and formed a relationship with Mary Lee Pemberton and together they raised her four nieces and nephews.
Everyone that knew Bobby knew that he loved his Cadillac cars/trucks and spending time at the special meeting place "The Garden", where he and the gang would get together, cook, trash talk, and do everything but garden. Bobby was a chef at Horn and Hardart Restaurant in downtown Philadelphia. Later, Bobby changed careers and went into the field of construction work and was a Local Teamsters Leader until he retired. Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, simply enjoying and living life.
Junior Jenerette Sr. (Bobby) departed this life on May 8, 2025.
He is survived by his three daughters; Denise Turner (Willie), Darcell Callaway, and Lena Jenerette all of Detroit, MI.; the nieces and nephew of Mary Lee Pemberton, Maria Pennix of North Carolina, Renee Allen, and James Pone of New Jersey, twenty-three grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
He is pre-deceased by his one and only son Junior Jenerette Jr., grandson Vaughan Lee Jenerette, and by Mary Lee's nephew Fisher Pone Jr., and special grandson and former caregiver Anthony Mark Alexander Pone Sr.
Bobby's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
