In Loving Memory of Tyrone Potts Sr.
April 26, 1952 – May 20, 2025
Tyrone Potts Sr. was born on April 26, 1952, in Camden, New Jersey, to Jo Lillian Potts and Forrest Adams. On May 20, 2025, God called him home to his eternal rest, gaining another angel in His heavenly kingdom.
Tyrone was educated in the Camden City school system. It was during his time at Camden High School that he met the love of his life, Lonita Wilson. Their bond grew into a lasting love, and they were united in marriage in February 1972. From their union, they were blessed with two children: Lachell J. Potts and Tyrone Potts Jr.
Affectionately known as “Ronnie” by those closest to him, he held various jobs over the years. His very first job was at Pathmark, followed by roles at the Garden State Racetrack, the Trump Taj Mahal Casino, and as a delivery driver for Office Depot. His longest tenure was as a baker at ShopRite, where he dedicated over 15 years before retiring.
Ronnie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved cooking and hosting BBQs, spending time with friends, and cheering on all his favorite Philadelphia sports teams. Most of all, he loved visiting the beach, his favorite place to relax and reflect.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Adams and Jo Lillian Williams.
Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of love and memories. He is survived by his wife, Lonita Potts; his children, Lachell J. Potts and Tyrone Potts Jr.; his daughter-in-love, Tufeka Potts; and four cherished grandchildren: Jahquan Thompson, Lyniyah Potts, Tre’von Potts, and Jaida Potts. He also leaves behind his sister Terry Cook, sixteen additional siblings, a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and a special cousin-sister, Arlene Edwards.
Ronnie’s spirit, warmth, and laughter will live on in all who knew and loved him.
