Shannon Lonnell Williams, 50, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering dedication to others. Born in Brooklyn, Shannon was a bright-eyed baby who grew into a deeply compassionate and selfless man.
Shannon devoted his life to working with individuals with special needs, creating safe and nurturing spaces where they could learn, grow, and thrive at their own pace. His work was more than a career—it was a calling, and his impact on the lives he touched will never be forgotten.
A lifelong fan of Star Wars, comics, and superheroes Shannon especially loved Superman and was our own personal Superman—always showing up for those he loved, whether to share in their joy or to lift them in their struggles. He had a gift for humor, a heart full of generosity, and a knack for impressions that could light up a room. Shannon also loved sports and was a devoted fan of the New York Knicks and New York Giants, cheering them on through every high and low season. Whether quoting a cartoon, telling a joke, or celebrating a big game, he had a way of bringing joy and energy to everyone around him.
He is survived by his loving parents, Debra and Moses Singleton; his beloved grandmother, Betty Johnson; his beloved sister Samantha Williams; his cherished daughter, Atiya Williams-Clark (Reginald Clark); and his adored grandchildren, Sultan, Solai, and Cameron. As well as his loving family and friends from Brooklyn- especially Flatbush, Lawnside NJ and surrounding areas, all the way to Maryland. His love and connections knew no physical bounds.
He was, and always will be, a source of light to those who knew and loved him. Shannon’s absence is a grave loss, and he will be sorely missed.
