Stanley Ralph Williams Obituary

Stanley Ralph Williams, 79, of Glassboro, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home. He was surrounded in spirit by the love of his family and the countless memories they shared across a life well lived. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Ogden and Margaret Williams (Boreoi), Stanley grew up in a large and loving family. Those early years, filled with energy, laughter, and deep-rooted values, shaped the man he would become—loyal, grounded, and quietly strong.

Stanley served his country with pride in the U.S. Army, a time that helped build the foundation for his discipline and work ethic. After completing his service, he went on to build a long and steady career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where he worked for 37 years as a Consumer Safety Inspector. He was the kind of worker people relied on—dedicated, humble, and consistent.

For more than five decades, Stanley was devoted to his wife, Elgen. Their bond was one of mutual love, respect, and deep companionship. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and laughter. Their partnership created a home filled with warmth—a space where everyone felt welcomed and loved.

Stanley’s greatest pride, however, was always his family. To his children, he was Dad—supportive, wise, quick with a joke or a helping hand. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was Pop-Pop—gentle, funny, and always present. He gave his love fully and freely, creating bonds that will carry on for generations. He was known for his smooth style—always in a crisp suit and one of his signature hats. He had a love for music that never faded, especially the classic soul sounds of Teddy Pendergrass and James Brown. When the music played, so did he—especially when it came to his signature “slop dance.” Stanley could turn an ordinary day into a backyard party with a grill, good music, and a whole lot of joy.

Those who knew him best will remember his laughter, his quiet wisdom, and the way he made everyone feel at ease. He wasn’t loud, but he was present. He didn’t need attention to be unforgettable. Whether through a word of advice, a perfectly timed joke, or a moment of calm in the chaos—he left his mark. Stanley now joins his beloved wife and many cherished family members who passed before him. His legacy continues through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, surviving siblings, extended family, and dear friends.

He will be remembered for the life he lived, the love he gave, and the joy he spread. His laugh, his strength, and his spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
