Quietly and peacefully, Arnold “Ronnie” Calbazana, was called to eternal rest on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
Arnold was born on November 9, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Dorena Bernardino and Robert Calbazana.
He was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System and graduated with honors from Bartram High School. After graduating, he began his career as a Switchman at Bell of Pennsylvania and later advanced to Second Level Senior Account Manager. Arnold was also the First Vice-Chairperson of Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc (GPHA).
During his career, he married his high school sweetheart, Gwendolyn Cherry. To this union came two daughters: Crystal Calbazana and Dorena Calbazana. He enjoyed working on and building computers, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandson Branden, whom he affectionately called his “Big Boy.”
The family has indeed suffered a great loss, but he left us with a heritage and challenge to continue loving and living life. We loved him dearly, but God loved him best.
Left to recall precious memories are Roberta Ware (Cousin Bobbi), Julianne Calbazana (sister), Gwendolyn Calbazana, Crystal Calbazana-Gavish, Dorena Calbazana-Sherman, Mark Sherman II (son-in-law), Branden Cooper, Dominic Sherman, a host of nieces and nephews, and loving friends.
God saw he was getting weary
So, he did what He thought was best.
He came and stood beside him
And whispered, “Come and Rest.”
