Carolyn Patricia Gary was born December 18, 1957, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Mr. William and Mrs. Della J. Gary‍. Carol, or CiGi as she was affectionately known, enjoyed life to the fullest.

CiGi grew up and remained in Philadelphia, proudly residing in the Wynnefield section of the city. CIGI graduated from Overbrook High School in 1976. She retired from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) after 28 years of service. CiGi was the life of the party, enjoying music, dancing, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Most of all, she relished the time spent with her "girl-crew," whether hanging out at each other's homes for get-togethers or attending various events to celebrate life. CiGi was known for her parties, cookouts, and helping everyone in any way possible. She also enjoyed playing her "numbers" and keeping others entertained and informed with her social media posts.

Life became different after having an ischemic stroke on July 15, 2024. CiGi was tired and had endured enough with the daily discomfort and frequent hospital visits. After 14 months of incapacitation, she decided to take the party where she knew she would free.

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, CiGi took her eternal rest at home, surrounded by the love of those who cared for her. She leaves to mourn two daughters: Talina M. Glover (Julius L Glover, Sr.) and Rasheda I. Gary; three grandchildren, Makai Glover, Julius L. Glover Jr., and Gavin Allen; two brothers, Ronald A. Gary (Rosetta Gary) and Carlos Gary; and one sister-in-law, Linda Gary. Two brothers preceded her in death: Rupert (Cookie) Gary and Eric Gary. While CiGi never married, she also leaves behind a significant other who was instrumental in her care; Clarence Brown; as well as a host of nieces and nephews who will sadly miss her.
