Curtis Antwan Standard was born on January 9, 1981, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, NJ to Marc Standard Sr. and Ethel
Standard.
Curtis was raised in Camden, NJ and educated in the Camden Public School System. He held various jobs over the years. He was also the
family’s handyman, always ready to help without hesitation, he would help with painting, cutting grass, cleaning out backyards, putting together a pool, or helping someone move.
He was affectionally known as “Curt”, “Wodi-Son” and “Fifty-One Cent” by his family and friends. His love was shown not only in words but in many ways, he served those around him. He found joy in the simple things of life. He had humor that was funny, a laugh and smile that could light up a room.
Curtis enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved riding his bike, enjoyed family gatherings, loved dancing, singing, enjoyed watching old cowboys movies, and his favorite football team- San
Fransico 49ers. Curtis was the life of the parties.
Most of all he loved his children, nephews, niece, his friends who are like his family on 27th street, his lifelong friends: Brent, Quay-“Cheese”, Troy, Sherron, Karon, Lakeea and Shonda.
Curtis departed his life on September 25, 2025. Curtis is preceded in death by his father-Marc Standard Sr.
He is survived by his mother Ethel Standard-Smith (Brian Smith),
Brothers- Mark Standard Jr, Darnell Standard, Tysheen Standard-Smith and sister Lashana Standard, Daughter Ka’llure Standard and son Curtis Standard Jr. He also leaves behind two aunts Donna Payton, Marva Hicks-Williams, one Uncle Harry Hicks, cousins, nephews, niece,
God-daughter Kiara Nycole and a special friend Natisha Clayton.
His memory will live on forever through all the people he touched with his sense of humor and kind spirit.
