Marilyn Marie Miller was born on January 16, 1952, in Raeford, North Carolina to the late David and Emma Miller. She was raised in Englewood, New Jersey by departed parents, (stepfather) Lonzer and (mother) Emma Miller Jackson. She has two brothers, Charles Davis and David Miller, Jr, as well as three sisters, Janice Edmonds, Gwendolyn Davis, and Lea Jean Turner who preceded her in death.

Marilyn attended the Englewood NJ school district, where she graduated from Dwight Morrow High School in 1970, and was employed by Libbey Owens Ford as a Data Entry Clerk.

She enjoyed dancing and singing as a young woman. Her dance style was smooth and her singing voice, angelic. She also enjoyed cooking and sharing her meals and baked goods with all that entered her home. Her life was marked by both struggle and strength; even in the face of mental illness, her kindness and giving nature never wavered.

In 2024, Marilyn relocated to a Nursing Home in South Jersey where she would be closer to family.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters: Emlett Sellers, of Raeford, NC and Cynthia (Harry) South, of Deptford, NJ and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
