Ellena C. Brooks, 84, of Newfield, N.J, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 12th, 2025.

She was born in July. 31st, 1941, to Willard Brooks and Vera Smith in Smithville, North

Carolina. Ellena worked at Vineland Developmental Center for 30 years until her

retirement. She was a faithful member of Voice of Deliverance New Covenant Church. She

served the Hospitality department, always with a smile on her face. Ellena loved to read

her Bible, sing worship songs, and cook meals for her family. Ellena was an excellent cook

and would create new recipes regularly. She collected food to distribute to the less

fortunate. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to Dollar Tree and the Berlin

flea market, watching Swamp People, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time at the

Newfield Community Center.

She leaves to cherish her memories, Son William (Shayekina) Prince, Grandchildren,

Sasha Prince, William Prince Jr., O’daisha Williams, Marcus Gross, and Barry Tribbett Jr.

Great-grandchildren, Elijah Prince and Elikai Prince.

She was predeceased by her father, Willard Brooks, and her mother, Vera Smith. Son,

Barry Tribbett Sr., Siblings, Paul Brooks, James Smith, and John Smith, Granddaughter,

Crystal Tribbett.
