Tamarra D. Gardner-Cormier Obituary

Tamarra Denise Gardner-Cormier, age 70, of Sicklerville, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on October 25, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on April 3, 1955, in Philadelphia, PA, Tamarra was the fourth of seven children to Audrey S. Gardner and Charles Gardner Sr. She graduated a year early from William Penn Girls High School in 1972, a testament to her intelligence and determination.

In 1989, Tamarra married Benny R. Cormier in Philadelphia, PA. Their home was filled with love—and a spirited football rivalry. Tamarra was a proud Philadelphia Eagles fan (Go Birds!), while Benny cheered for the New Orleans Saints. They relocated to Sicklerville, NJ in 1996, where they continued to build a life full of love, laughter, faith, and family.

Tamarra had one beloved daughter, Sheree Denise Gardner, and was a proud grandmother to two grandsons: Daquan I. McClenton and Gregory F. Stanback III. Her love for them was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with her family.

Tamarra dedicated her professional life to serving others, working as a supervisor for Veterans Affairs until her retirement in 2018. She served as a faithful member of St. Matthews Baptist Church of Williamstown, NJ where her spirit and devotion touched many.

Tamarra was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest brother, Charles (Toody) Gardner Jr. She is survived by her loving husband Benny; her daughter Sheree Denise Gardner (Tae); her grandsons Daquan I. McClenton and Gregory F. Stanback III; her sister Paulette Gardner Blunt; her sisters-in-love Joyce and Delores; and her brothers Jeffery (Cookie) Gardner (Vera), Kevin Gardner (Pauline), Aubrey Gardner (Angela), and Audie Gardner (Sheila). She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and cherished friends.

Tamarra’s legacy is one of strength, compassion, unwavering love and faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
