Pearl Peterson, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 17th. She was born on May 2, 1936, to the late Cleveland Corbett and Daisy Eli Corbett in Lincolnton, North Carolina. Pearl later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she married the late Randy Herbert. Together, they welcomed their sons, Neal Herbert and the late Ronald Corbett. Pearl and her sons eventually relocated to New Jersey, where she later met and married her husband, the late Eugene Peterson.

Pearl retired after 25 years of dedicated service with Ecko Products in Clayton, New Jersey. She continued her commitment to helping others by working for Cumberland County Homemaker Services as a compassionate home health aide.

Pearl devoted her life wholeheartedly to her loving family. She was a woman of integrity and remarkable strength—the heart and foundation of her family. She carried herself with grace and class, loved God with all her being, and poured her wisdom and comfort into those she cherished. Pearl was known for her honesty and straightforwardness; if you came looking for sugar-coating, you simply wouldn’t find it. She said what needed to be said, whether you were ready for it or not. Her love was genuine, steady, and unconditional.

Pearl leaves to cherish her memory: her son Neal Herbert of Vineland, New Jersey; sister-in-law Jimmy Lee Corbett of Donora, Pennsylvania; daughter-in-law Valerie Corbett of

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; grandchildren Neal Herbert (Brenda Herbert), Porsha Herbert, Ronnie Seright, Kelly Corbett, Lamar Carter, Sharonne Corbett, Maurice Corbett, Laurie Triplett (Wayne Triplett), and Sherene Carter; great-grandchildren Briel Herbert, Dominique Johnson, Breon Herbert, Brittany Herbert, Chase Martinez, Chloe Corbett, Nyhiera Corbett, Donald Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Dylan Brooks, Jaylin Brooks, Braelyn Velez, and Erin Shepard; along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Peterson; parents Cleveland Corbett and Daisy Eli Corbett; son Ronald Corbett; brothers Jack Corbett, Virgil Corbett, Raymond Corbett, Shannon Corbett, and Brown Corbett; and sisters Aggie Bell Thompson, Lily B. Williams, Viola Still, Dorothy Linder, Estelle Gober, and Lueciel Corbett McAfee.
