THE OBITUARY
For Lynda Louise Robinson
aka
‘Mulla’
Lynda Louise Robinson was born on October 20, 2025, in Camden, NJ, to Wilbur C. Robinson, Sr., and his wife, Mamie H. Clayton-Robinson. On November 13, 2025, while in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loved ones, Lynda peacefully transitioned to her Heavenly home.
Wilbur and Mamie Robinson were blessed with 7 children of which Lynda was a fraternal twin, the younger to her twin sister, Brenda, and the fifth child from this union which also produced a second set of twins - identical twin boys - Michael and Mitchell (Michael died in early infancy and the remaining twin’s name was thus changed from Mitchell to Mark).
As a child, Lynda was known as a ‘tomboy’ and could outplay most of the boys in the neighborhood during football and baseball games. Even as a child, she was tenacious in whatever she did, at home and at school.
Lynda was educated in the Haddonfield Public School System. She valued her education and excelled in her studies and grades which earned her a standing ovation from her classmates and the entire student body during her 12th grade Commencement Ceremony. She was well-respected and well-known along with her twin as the ‘African American Twins of Haddonfield.’
In 1976, after graduating from Haddonfield Regional High School, Lynda enrolled at Camden County College in Blackwood, NJ, and worked in the mailroom as a work-study student. Lynda earned her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education and then began working part-time at the college as a switchboard operator. She had a reputation as a dependable employee whose work ethic was outstanding. As such, the college created a full-time position for her and welcomed her to the Student Advising staff as a Student Advisor. There, she assisted students with scheduling classes and making rudimentary decisions that can often be challenging, although germane to the collegiate experience. She was sought after by many because of her ability to ease the anxieties of students and families, and her ability to always intuitively know the best professors to register with for the most challenging subjects. Lynda was committed to education, even remaining committed to her own education by taking online classes through Thomas Edison University towards her Bachelor's Degree. And, she accomplished all these things while working and raising a family!
On June 1, 2004, Lynda retired from Camden County College after working more than 2 decades there. Part of her legacy is the placement of her name on the permanent Dean's List for her academic achievements.
In her early teenage years, Lynda attended Grace Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., in Cherry Hill, NJ, with her family, under the leadership of the late Elder Henry F. Carmichael. She shared her talent and expressed her praise as a faithful servant, skillfully playing the conga drums. While a member of Grace Temple, Lynda was baptized in the Name of Jesus according to Acts 2:38 and received the promise of the Holy Ghost. In 2015, Lynda was led of the Lord to join the Mount Carmel Holy Church, where she began to grow in the Word of God and in prayer. Her spiritual walk grew by leaps and bounds as she blossomed in confidence, strength, and spiritual boldness. Even on Mt. Carmel’s online platform for prayer, she was frequently asked to facilitate as Prayer Leader for the group in the fellowship and agreement of prayer.
Thus, Lynda served well in every role she fulfilled, whether secular or spiritual. She was faithful to family as a sister, mother, grandmother, relative, and friend. She was a faithful worker to man, and a faithful servant to God. She did her best always with loyalty, integrity, and consistency. She was noted to be diligent and trustworthy, for she kept her word, and you could always count on her to be on her post. Lynda served on many auxiliaries within the ministry, such as the Music Ministry, Communications Team as one of the announcers, and as the Outreach Coordinator for the sick and seniors.
Lynda’s love for sports remained over the years - it never left! She loved watching boxing and attending karate tournaments with her grandkids, but her favorite outdoor pastime was fishing.
Lynda valued her independence and instilled the same values in each of her children. You see, the bike she had at 11 years old was not merely for enjoyment but for employment - she used it to deliver newspapers. After retirement and when her kids were all grown, she challenged herself and expressed her unwavering love for family by adopting her twin great-granddaughters in 2017 when they were just a few months old. This is a direct view of Lynda’s heart - the heart of a giver. She was known to give to family and friends. And if you mention the name ‘Mulla’ to family, friends, neighbors, and those throughout her community’s educational system, they’ll know just who you mean. ‘Mulla,’ a woman with a great big heart! Lynda was predeceased by her father, mother, and brothers Michael & Jeff. She leaves to cherish her memory 6 children: Kory Robinson (Rhonda), Dionne Konteh, Brian Robinson, David Robinson (Emily), Samaya Robinson, and Saige Robinson; Siblings - Wilbur Robinson, Jr.(Annie), Dianne Carmichael, Brenda Ingram (twin), and Mark Robinson; one uncle, Reverend James Clayton; 2 Aunts Carrie Brown and Evelyn Robinson; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, saints, and friends.
Lynda Louise ‘Mulla’ Robinson will be sorely missed by all…
