Aida Marisol Smith Obituary

Aida Marisol Smith

12/20/1978 - 1/10/2026

Aida Marisol passed away suddenly on January 10, 2026, after being admitted to the hospital. She was 47. Aida spent a lot of time the past year in and out of the hospital, dealing with a host of medical issues. It was not easy for her, but she never gave up.

Aida was born and raised in Camden, NJ, and lived in Merchantville, NJ, for the last 8 years with her fiancé, Oscar Arocho, and their 4 dogs.

Aida was predeceased by her loving parents, Emerita Babilonia and Angel (Jose) Hernandez, her brother Narciso Pellot, and her 2 great nieces, Sonia and Sendy Figueroa.

She was a loving sister to Alex and Juan (Vilma), and was a dear aunt of Janette (Juan), Norma (Steve), Juan (Dianna), Joceline (Eugene), and Veronica. She adored her great nieces and nephews and also left behind a host of adored cousins, aunts, and uncles, who will all miss her dearly.

Aida attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, NJ. She spent many years working at the ML hotel in Mt Laurel as a supervisor in the housekeeping department.

For the last 5 years, Aida worked at H&R Block in Camden as an assistant team leader, where she formed amazing relationships with her coworkers who became her family. She also spent the last 2 years working for Will Scott & Lamont Transport company in Camden, and she always talked about how rewarding her job was, being able to help the patients get to appointments.

Aida was a kind and loving friend. She was generous with whatever she had and was always there to offer support in any way she could, even if it was just being there to listen. She loved her fiancé dearly. Oscar was her biggest supporter and only cared about her happiness and well-being. Her 4 dogs were her children, and she spoiled them rotten. While the last few years were extremely tough on her, between burying her close loved ones and dealing with her medical conditions, she always had a heart full of love for the people she cared about, and the love went both ways. Life was not easy for Aida, but she always kept trying to move forward, taking life one day at a time, as that is all we are promised.

May she rest in peace.
