Obituary

Ricardo Farrell Uzzell, lovingly known as “Rick,” age 68, returned to Allah on January 6, 2026, in Burlington, New Jersey.

Born on July 3, 1957, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Norma Jean Dolly and Harry Uzzell, both of whom preceded him in death, Rick was their cherished only child. His family later relocated to Burlington Township, New Jersey, where he was educated in the Burlington Township School System and built lifelong roots in the community.

Rick went on to further his studies in religion abroad, embracing his faith with deep devotion. A devoted Muslim, he lived his life in service to Allah, drawing strength, purpose, and joy from his spiritual practice. Guided by these same values of discipline, service, and commitment, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, carrying those principles into every aspect of his life.

Rick was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in the laughter and love of his children and grandchildren. A steady presence and protector of his family, he was someone his loved ones could always depend on. Whether in the kitchen creating new recipes, in the pool embracing the water, or in the boxing ring testing his limits, Rick pursued life with passion and joy. He cherished every moment spent with family and friends and, often said, “Family first, faith always, laughter every day.”

Rick leaves to cherish his memory his lifelong partner, Jolynn Wainwright; his children: Kassandra Uzzell-Dale, Kevin Dale, Ricardo Charles, Gerald Walker, Sonny Walker (Jasmine Walker), Christopher Jones, Aaron Jones, Andre Jones, and his son-in-love, David Wilson; as well as a host of grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends.

He lived, laughed, and listened passionately, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit, guidance, and love will forever surround those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind memories that will be treasured for generations. Rick will be deeply missed and forever remembered. His life was a testament to faith, family, and service, and the many lives he touched will continue to honor his memory.

May Allah bless him with Jannah and grant peace to all who mourn his passing.
