SHARON T THOMPSON Obituary
Sharon Theresa Thompson departed this earthly realm on January 7, 2026, leaving an indelible mark on every heart she touched. She was born in Vineland, NJ, on August 15,1960 to the late Felix and Mary (Mott) Thompson. Sharon was the youngest of six children and cherished the most. In her early years in Vineland, she attended the local school system and graduated in 1979, which laid the foundation for the remarkable woman she would become.
Sharon’s life was a testament to strength, service, and boundless love. Sharon was a true patriot where she proudly served our nation in the United States Army. Sharon was assigned to the 144th Supply Company where she served from 1979 until her honorable discharge in 1992. She dedicated herself to her duties which also included her courageous service during Operation Desert Storm. Her commitment to others extended beyond her military career; she brought her unwavering dedication to her roles as a security officer at Showboat Casino and later as a compassionate caregiver at the Vineland Developmental Center, where she retired after years of nurturing those in her charge.
Sharon’s spirit was also deeply rooted in her faith, having been raised in the St. Francis Catholic Church and later finding spiritual solace and community at the Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church. Her joy, however, was most brightly ignited in the company of her family. She reveled in watching her loved ones compete in sports, particularly cheering on her great-granddaughter Anajali at softball games. Sharon had a special knack for bringing smiles, whether through her creative "diaper cakes" for new arrivals or during lively casino trips and festive BBQ gatherings. These were the moments she cherished, demonstrating her generous and fun-loving nature.
She leaves behind an incredible legacy of family that she adored, a testament to her enduring love. Her children Tamaisha and Terrance will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She was the proud grandmother to Marrisa Maven, Myron Jones Jr., Nyshawn Rollings, and Terrence Thompson Jr., and a doting great-grandmother to Anajali Luckey, Yoshi Jones, Charles Hannah Jr. (affectionately known as Buck-O), Vera Jones, and Nyshawn Rollings Jr. Her love extended to her great-niece, Felicia Ford, and her children, Averia Ford, Jeffery Cox, and Mariah Figueroa. Sharon is also survived by her loving sister, Beverly Ann Borden (and husband Jeff), and her two special, lifelong friends, Doris Jones and Denise Colvin, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and dear friends whose lives she enriched.
Sharon now joins her beloved parents, Felix and Mary (Mott) Thompson, her precious sons, Christopher Robertson Jr. and Brandon Felix Thompson, and her siblings, Felix Thompson Jr., Joseph Thompson, Essie Marie Davis, and Valerie Clark, in eternal peace.
While our hearts ache with her absence, we celebrate Sharon’s magnificent journey from a life of unwavering dedication and love to her heavenly reward. Her laughter, her wisdom, and her unconditional affection truly made her a brilliant beam of light, illuminating the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be profoundly missed, yet her memory will forever inspire and guide us.
