Obituary
Shelton Lee, Jr. was born June 29, 1956. He was known for his unique personality and his sense of humor. He was a natural-born leader and always the life of the party. He was known to many in the community, and he never met a stranger.
Music was Shelton’s ultimate lifeline. A passion that provided comfort when he felt alone and strength when he felt weak. As a gifted and self-taught keyboardist and musician, he spent countless hours perfecting his craft. He was the organizer and producer of several musical groups and recorded a gospel album. While Shelton faced immense personal challenges that shaped his life’s journey, he never lost his love for music and family.
Shelton served with pride in the United States Marines. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and two Marksman badges for his proficiency with weapons. He was honorably discharged in 1975.
Shelton loved his family and often spoke of them with authentic and unwavering heartfelt adoration. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Bell Montgomery Lee, and his sister, Sarah Lee Hutchinson(“Tootsie”).
Shelton leaves to cherish his memories his father Shelton Lee, Sr. (Pat); his brothers, Apostle Ken Lee (Elder Sharron) and Sam Lee; his children: Lisa Lee; Richard Lee; Shelton Lee, III; and Krystal Lee; 27
grandchildren, great grandchildren; Special friend and mother of his
children Denise Brown, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. As Shelton’s life’s journey ends and his eternal life begins, he will not be forgotten and will forever be in our hearts.
