Arvin James Hall III Obituary
Arvin James Hall, III was born in Vineland, New Jersey, on November 24, 1988, to Selina
Thompson-Hall and the late Arvin James Hall, Jr. He was called home by God on February 26,
2026.
As a child, Arvin III, also known as Jay, always loved to sing, especially throughout the house.
His positive attitude and beautiful spirit could light up any room. Arvin and his big sister,
Shanell shared an unbreakable bond—they were simply inseparable. If you saw one, you saw
the other. At the age of four, Arvin began singing in the Junior Ensemble Choir at Glory Tabernacle. He was full of life and energy, and his smile could melt your heart. As he grew older, his love for singing continued to blossom. He later joined the Sounds of Glory Teen Choir. At the age of 13, Arvin dedicated his heart to the Lord. He began leading songs and ministering effectively under a strong anointing. His vocals were truly like no other. In his early twenties, Arvin remained an active member of Glory Tabernacle and served as a mentor to the youth ministry. Arvin was voted “Most Popular” in the eighth grade and was truly the life of the party wherever he went. He was loved by many. Although he was known for his angelic singing voice, Arvin could also dance exceptionally well. During his middle school years, he played football as a front-line player and also played point guard in basketball. He was strong, courageous, fast, and simply unstoppable. Arvin attended Bridgeton High School, where he joined the choir. During his senior year, he was crowned Prom King. He also played the lead role in the school play The Cat in the Hat.
Arvin graduated from Bridgeton High School in Bridgeton, New Jersey, in 2007. Following high
school, he attended Cumberland County College in New Jersey, where he received his
Associate’s degree in Sociology in 2009. He later continued his studies in Sociology at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania
Arvin was an excellent big brother to Abram, Andrew, and Eric Jr. He was always willing to do
whatever was necessary to help them in any way possible. Arvin loved his entire family
unconditionally. Whenever there was a need—or even a simple desire—he was always ready to
help. He had a deeply caring and loving heart, especially for his family and close friends.
Arvin leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Selina Thompson-Hall of Atlanta; his
grandmother, Annie Ledora Hall of Florida; his sister, Shanelle N. Johnson (Hamede) of
Vineland; and his three brothers, Abram J. Hall, a sergeant serving in the military (Ivonne),
Andrew J. Hall (Jaelin) of Pennsville, and Eric J. Loatman, Jr. of Atlanta. He is also survived by four nieces, two nephews, five aunts, five uncles, and a host of cousins, other family members, and friends.
Arvin was preceded in death by his father, Elder Arvin James Hall, Jr.; his grandfather, Bishop Arvin James Hall, Sr.; his grandmother, Lugenia Thompson; his grandfather, Edward Lee
Thompson, Sr.; and his aunt, Edith Guildford
