Janey D. Price Obituary
Janey D. Hadley-Price, known as “Mom Janey,” passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, in
Bridgeton, NJ. Born on September 28, 1933, in Amsterdam, GA. Janey later married the love of
her life, Herman Levan Price. She led a life devoted to faith, family, and service to her
community.
Janey began her professional journey as a seamstress at Val Mode Lingerie, Leon’s, and later
worked at The Bridgeton Nursing as a dietary aide. Her strong work ethic and dedication to
helping others were evident throughout her career.
A woman of deep faith, Janey accepted the Lord as her Savior at a young age and was
baptized at Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton, NJ. She later became an active member of St.
Augustine AME Zion Church, where she served faithfully for many years. As a member of the
South Jersey Ushers Board, she exemplified her commitment to her church community. While
Janey was known for carrying her Bible, she found great joy in reading scripture and immersing herself in the Lord’s word.
Janey cherished time with her family and took pride in creating a loving home filled with warmth and care. Although Mom Janey had 13 children of her own, she also adopted children from all over the world, from Africa to Asia. No matter how big or how small, she donated all over the world. She was “Mom Janey” to many.
Janey found happiness in cooking, cleaning, and nurturing those around her, leaving behind a
legacy of unwavering love and devotion.
She is survived by her children: Theresa Lowe; Deborah Surrency (Jerry); Jacqueline Skinner
(Tony); Mary Price; Gregory Price (June); and Paula Hogan. One God-Child, Sharon
Mosley-Peterson.
She also leaves to cherish her sister, Daisy Mae Neal; Carol Shepperd; Roberta Hadley, and
brother, Bishop David Hadley (Darlene); and Rev. James Hadley
Mom Janey also leaves to cherish twenty-seven (27) Grandchildren, sixty (60)
Great-Grandchildren, and twenty-seven (27) Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Several beloved family members predeceased her: Grandson Adrian Skinner; Anthony Bartley;
Brock Hogan; Granddaughter Miracle Price; Great Grandson Wilvonate Higginbotham;
Daughters Dianne Price; Bernice Price; Andrea Price; Elizabeth Williams; Vanessa Price;
Sheray Price; and son Herman LeVan Price Jr.
Janey’s Life was a testament to faithfulness and love for her family.
