Timothy Ginyard Obituary
Timothy Ginyard was born on October 14th, 1954, to the late Theodore Cossum and Margery Ginyard. Timothy was the eldest of eight siblings, a role he embraced wholeheartedly, often considering himself a father figure to his brothers and sister. Affectionately known as “Timmy” by his family, he carried that sense of responsibility with him throughout his life.
Timothy was educated in the Philadelphia School District and graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. A true jack of all trades, he learned early on that hard work and dedication were the keys to success. Determined to provide for his family and give back to his community, Timmy started his own business, opening a variety store that became a local staple.
His strong work ethic led him to hold multiple jobs before finding his long-term home at Rowan University. There, he began his career as a line cook, quickly rising to the position of head chef. Through his dedication and leadership, he was eventually promoted to Facilities Supervisor, a role he held with pride for 25 years until his retirement.
On April 19, 2025, Timothy happily began a beautiful new chapter when he married the love of his life, Lynn. He was a faithful, devoted and loving husband. Together, they nurtured, loved and supported their blended family, creating a home filled with warmth and unity.
Timothy was deeply loved by his children, cherished by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and respected by all who knew him. He found great joy in family gatherings and always wanted his loved ones close. Though he would jokingly fuss and “supervise” everyone around him, it was clear that his greatest happiness came from being surrounded by family.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and most of all, cooking. Timmy took pride in feeding his family. Sometimes with his famous “mystery meals” his road kills” and would laugh heartily when revealing what they had just enjoyed. A devoted football fan, he cheered passionately for the Pittsburg Steelers and never missed an opportunity to tease his family when the Philadelphia Eagles lost.
On, March 20th, 2026, the Lord called Timmy home and opened the gates of Heaven. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his siblings, Michael Prince, Felton, Robert and Anthony Ginyard.
A devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and trusted friend, Timothy leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lynn; his children, Abdul (Kathy), Delcene (Larry), Hakeem (Jeanette), Danielle and Tianna;14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; his siblings: Theodora (Frederick), Frederick (Chrissy), Michael (Edith), 2 Sisters In Laws Martha and Stephanie., ;God-Sister, Carmen; God Brother, Wayne (Mercedes); two aunts, Carol and Bernell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
