David Hannah Obituary
David Hannah, was born July 8, 1953 in Mullins, SC to the late Ernest Hannah and Corine G. Hannah. David grew up in Mullins, SC, where he graduated from Mullins High School. He also lived in Ocean City, Atlantic City, and Pleasantville, NJ then Philadelphia PA, and Florence SC. It was in these various locations that David formed and build lifetime memories and relationships. His last location was in Egg Harbor Township, NJ where he lived with his oldest daughter and son-in-law and surrounded by his immediate family.
David worked as a chef at many restaurants. His last place of employment was at Lamp Lighter in Florence, SC.
David was affectionately called Tisdale (NJ days), Dawuh (PA days), Brother, Unc, Philly Pop Pop, G-Pop, and Daddy. David was loved by many. He was a kindhearted man who helped many along his journey in life. David had a special indescribable love for his family and especially for his children and grandchildren. He was always the one who brought the fun, laughter, and positive energy into any room he entered.
David loved to cook, sing, make jokes, be around his family, get dressed in his best attire with his sunglasses and hats, and takes pictures. He loved watching wrestling and all the Philadelphia sport teams, but he was a true Eagles fan.
David dedicated his life to the Lord many years ago in Philadelphia, PA. Upon returning back to South Carolina he eventually went back to his home church Bethlehem AME in Mullins, SC.
David entered back in to the arms of God on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. He was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Corine Hannah. Brothers- Roland Tisdale Jr and Jesse Hannah. Sisters- Earlie Mae Shaw and Virginia Tisdale Eaddy. Nephews- Jonathan “Americk” Hannah, Christopher Dixon, Roland Tisdale III, Joshua Hannah, and Dashan Gerald. Niece- Jacqueline Shaw. And his dog Coco
David’s legacy will be lived out by his children- Latasha Hannah-Dennis (Otis), Shalisa Hannah, Shameka Hannah, and two additional children he also loved and cared for, Philip Hannah and Krystal Hannah. Grandchildren- Dereck Mack II, Tiara English, Chico English Jr, Deon Hannah, Dontay Turner, Da’von Hannah, as well as Zaniyah Hannah and Rylee Hannah
Great grandchildren- Catalina Mack, Sah’mir Davis, and Nola Hannah.
David leaves to cherish his memories, siblings- Hilda Tisdale, Ernest Hannah (Kathleen), (his twin brother) Joenathan Hannah, Jerry Hannah (Cheryl), Jerelene Hannah, Randolph Hannah, and Debra Ann Fling (Ronald).
Sisters-in-law- Geraldine Tisdale and Rosie Hannah and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Along with his closest friend Fred Smith.
David will be missed by all.
