Celebrating The Life Of Beverly Ann Borden


Getting to know Beverly Ann Borden “Nana” - She was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 17,1948 to the late Felix and Mary Thompson. She attended Delsea Regional High School and graduated in 1967. She was very active in sports and enjoyed playing field hockey.

She met and married the late Theodore Ford in 1968. To that union six daughters were born Carla, Lisa, Tanya, Terri, Kelli, and Kovon whom she loved unconditionally. She later met and married Jeffrey Borden.


Everyone called her “Nana” and she was loved by everyone!

Beverly’s time to work - She attended nursing school right after high school and was able to work in the profession that she loved at the Vineland Developmental Center (Vineland State School) for approximately 27 years. She retired 2008 and loved traveling with her family

Nana’s time to enjoy family and friends - “Nana” fiercely loved her family! She could often be heard saying “Don’t mess with my girls, my grandkids or my husband! “She travelled with them often to family vacations and made sure that she attended their sports activities. She could be seen in the stands or sitting in her chair on the sidelines wrapped in her blanket cheering her children, grandchildren and even her great - grandchildren on! “Nana” loved any beach (not the beach water) but she loved to swim! She loved football and baseball and watching her grandchildren play was her joy. She loved traveling!

She also loved arts and crafts and could often be seen helping her grandchildren with their projects.


She was an avid shopper! BJ’s and Kohls were her favorite places to shop!

Ann’s time to worship- The family lived in Camden, NJ briefly and attended Antioch Baptist Church. Upon moving to Vineland, NJ she became a member of Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church in 1999 where she became active in the ministry. She held the positions of Church secretary, Church Steward, Sacred Dance Teacher, and Youth Confirmation Instructor for many years. She loved her church ministries!


Those who will savor precious memories - Her husband, Jeffrey Borden, her daughters, Carla Ford, Lisa Lomax (Stan), Tanya Ford, Terri Ford, Kelli Ford and Kovon Ford-Yates (George), 25 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Those who have journeyed on - In addition to her parents- Felix and Marie Thompson, thre sisters- Essie Davis, Valerie Clark and Sharon Thompson, and two brothers- Felix Thompson and Joseph Thompson.
