Kenneth Wordell Green Obituary
Kenneth Wordell Green, lovingly known to many as “Kenny,” passed away peacefully at his home in Burlington, New Jersey, on May 19, 2026, at the age of 71.
Born on June 21, 1951, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kenny was the beloved son of Lorena Green and George Green. He was a treasured brother to George “Allen” Green, Richard “Dicky” Green, Clifford Green, and Linda Nickleson. He was a devoted husband to Sheila Green, a loving father to Sherri Gordon, and a proud and dedicated grandfather to Kendell and Kailyn Gordon. Kenneth was also a wise uncle, cousin, nephew, and loyal friend to many.
Kenny was known for his kind heart, friendly spirit, and genuine love for family and friends. He cherished spending time with loved ones and found great joy in traveling, creating memories, and bringing people together. He took tremendous pride in his home, which was known for having one of the most beautiful lawns in the neighborhood, a reflection of the care and attention he gave to everything he loved. One of his favorite places was his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he enjoyed relaxing days, spending time with friends, and playing many rounds of golf.
Kenny valued education and hard work throughout his life. He attended Mercer County Community College, where he earned a full scholarship to New York University and later graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Throughout his professional career, he worked for companies including Cullinet and PepsiCo before becoming an independent contractor. His work allowed him to travel internationally to places such as Singapore, Canada, and Malaysia. These experiences gave him lessons, stories, and memories that he truly appreciated and enjoyed sharing with others.
Kenny loved teaching people, especially his grandchildren, and took pride in sharing the knowledge and wisdom he gained throughout his life. He had a deep love for music and taught himself how to play the bass guitar. Whether he was teaching important life skills, showing someone how to navigate Philadelphia public transportation, giving advice about investing and finances, or simply sharing wisdom from his own experiences, Kenny always wanted the people he loved to learn and grow from what he knew.
Above all else, Kenny was deeply proud of his family. He never missed an opportunity to support and celebrate his grandchildren. Whether attending football and basketball games for Kendell or field hockey games for Kailyn, he was always present, cheering them on with pride and unconditional love.
Kenny will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, wisdom, sense of humor, and the way he made everyone around him feel welcomed and cared for. He enjoyed sharing laughs in the evening with Steve Harvey hosting Family Feud and was known for shouting out the wrong answer to a Jeopardy question, always keeping those around him entertained and on their toes.
His presence, encouragement, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and countless friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, friendship, and unwavering support.
