Obituary of Bobbie L. Poller Jr.

Bobbie Lee Poller Jr. was born on October 29, 1948, in Waycross, Georgia, to the late Bobbie Lee Poller, Sr. and Mary Hobbs Poller. Bobbie was the eldest of four siblings. He embraced this position with great pride and enormous seriousness, sharing his childhood with his brothers, Jeffrey Poller and Rawn Poller, and his sister, Deborah Poller-Jones.

Bobbie began his education in the Ware County School District in Waycross, Georgia before graduating from Camden High School in Camden, New Jersey in 1965. He continued his education at Rutgers University–Camden, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. During his time at Rutgers in 1972, he met and fell in love with Sheila P. Bernard, whom he later married. Their union was blessed with two children, Jada Sylvia-Denee Poller born in 1974 and Jeremy Lee-Richard Poller born in 1981.

As life continued, Bobbie found love again with Madelyn Esposito, and together they welcomed their son, Bobbie Lee Poller, III born in 1985. Bobbie found love with Judith Parker. They began their romance after meeting at PNC Bank in Camden. They pursued their romance over the years, and their union was blessed in 1990 with twin daughters, Alexis Niesha Poller and Ashley Nicole Poller. As a family, they had fun and leisure time spent in the Pocono Mountains during the summer season.

As life continued, Bobbie’s heart expanded again with love and companionship with Genevieve Beale; also known as “Ms. Geni”, his sweetheart whom he shared many laughs, home cooked gourmet meals. Bobbie and Geni enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City, summer music concerts and they enjoyed watching the soap operas together. Soon after graduating high school, at just 17 years old, Bobbie enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country as a Military Police Officer. His service included time in the South Vietnam war, where he carried out his duties with courage, discipline, and honor.

After completing his military service, Bobbie devoted many years to the State of New Jersey as a social worker with the Division of Youth & Family Services, providing child protective services to children in need, offering guidance and compassion until his retirement. A driven entrepreneur, Bobbie also owned and operated several successful businesses, including an accounting and tax preparation service, a commercial janitorial company, and a home remodeling business. His work ethic, determination, and ability to excel across multiple industries reflected the same strength of character he carried throughout his life.

Bobbie really enjoyed listening to music on his headphones especially Kenny G, Chicago, WAR, Earth Wind & Fire. Bobbie had a passion for sports and was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Eagles. He also enjoyed playing billiards, basketball, and tennis — especially evening matches under the lights. He enjoyed staying informed about current events and was a humanitarian at heart, generously supporting organizations such as PBS, Wounded Warrior Project and the SPCA. Later in life, he was punctual with the highlight of his evening watching the 6:30 p.m. World Evening news on Channel 6.

Family was at the center of Bobbie's life. In addition to his five children, he leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren: Ramaj Poller, Jahsyed Cruz, Jahsere Cruz, Julian Poller, Cameron Poller, Callan Poller, and Nevaeh Poller. He was also blessed with three great-grandsons, Kaiden Artis, Kaisen Artis-Poller and Jahsere Cruz, Jr., as well as a host of cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

During his final years, Bobbie was lovingly cared for by his daughter, Jada, and his brother, Rawn, whom shared his home with him and helped provide comfort and companionship alongside his beloved dog Hulk and cherished cat Goldie. After a life well lived and a legacy of service, love, and generosity, Bobbie Lee Poller, Jr. peacefully departed this life on Sunday, July 5, 2026. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
