Kenny’s Life & Legacy

On December 3, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kenneth Alton Jackson was born to the late Bertha Richardson Jackson and Eugene “Bus” Jackson.

Kenneth, affectionately known as “Kenny” was a breakout star in basketball and track at Simon Gratz High School where he graduated in 1954. After graduation, Kenny enlisted and proudly served in the United States Air Force where he was honorably discharged in 1958.

He began his career in the United States Post Office. On May 18, 1963, he married Naomi Louise James and from that union came two beautiful children, Kevin and Rhonda. In 1972, they moved from Brooklyn, NY to Willingboro, NJ. He went back to school and obtained his Associates of Arts Degree from Burlington County College in 1974. After graduation, he began working for the Internal Revenue Service until his retirement in 1992.

Kenny was perhaps best known for his role as a father and grandfather, lovingly called "Pop” by his 9 grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Whether it was attending school plays, concerts and cheering from the sidelines at sports games, he made it his mission to be an active and loving presence in their lives. He passed down family traditions such as his love for music and shooting pool, shared countless stories, and created memories that will be cherished for generations.

Kenny went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2026. He is preceded in death by Naomi Jackson and his brother Eddie Jackson. He leaves to cherish his memory his sister-in-law, Charlotte Jackson; his children, son and daughter-in-law, Kevin, Sr. and Deborah Jackson; daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Rodrick Williams; nine grandchildren Antoine (Porsha), DeAndre (Kelly), Kevin, Jr. (Courtney), DeShawn, Jasmine, Andrew (Shani), Levi, Joshua and Joseph; and 8 great- grandchildren, Desmond, Kali, Aysha, Liyah, Andrew, Jr., Kevin, Kenny, and Ace and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever remember his wisdom, and dry sense of humor.
