Abe Weston was my Air Force recruiter way back in 1967 and was instrumental in my enlistment. My original application was turned down with the explanation that the Air Force had reached its quota of women. Sgt. Weston knew better because, as a recruiter, he knew the Air Force never reached their quota of women because not very many women were joining the military at that time. He, along with my father, fought back and challenged my rejection. As a result of their efforts, I am now a retired USAF veteran, with over 20 years of active military service. I've only seen Sgt. Weston a handful of times since I enlisted but I as well as my family never forgot him. Rest in peace Sgt. Weston.
