Cora Belle (Henderson) Gordon, age 85, “Momá,” also known by her diverse church family as “Mother Gordon,” was born on a Monday, August 31, 1931 in Pine Bluff of Jefferson County, Arkansas to the late Edward B. Henderson and Maranda Bradley Henderson. She departed her earthly home and returned to her Heavenly home in Glory with The Lord on December 15, 2016.
One son preceded her in death, Ralph Greene Gordon (1960-1974). She leaves behind to cherish her memory the eldest son, Horace Patterson Gordon, Jr.; another son, Harold Greene Gordon; her adopted son, Brian Hamilton; and, her twin daughters: Dr. Berdine Gordon-Littréan, and Belinda Gordon-Pellot whom she leaves to carry on her legacy along with two Godchildren, the Reverend Gregory F. Rhett and Carla Purnell McDuffie. A friend and spiritual confidant for over 60 years, Constance Purnell, shares the loss of a lifetime friendship. A favorite church deacon, Bro. David A. Murray, who checked in on Momá, and delivered her vanilla ice cream, shares our loss.
The Grandchildren will greatly miss their grandmother whom she was affectionately called by many names like Nana, Mom-mom, Grandmomá: Destiny, Eboné, Éva, Jazzelle, Angel, and Jaeden; she leaves behind to carry on her legacy. Her eldest grandson preceded her in death, Harold T. Gordon a.k.a. “Jr” (1979-2015). A great-grandson, Harold Al-Tyreek T. Gordon, also shares the loss of his loving Nana along with an extended legacy of other great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, Pine Bluff relatives, and friends will greatly miss her.— “Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.”
