Memorial Scholarship

The May Family is pleased to announce the 2026 Thomas E. May Memorial Scholarship. 

As the Founder and Owner of May Funeral Homes and an Entrepreneur in southern New Jersey for over 50 years, Thomas E. May strived to make a difference in his community and in the lives of the people he served. As a Philanthropist, and also a Pastor in Camden, NJ, his life made an impact on countless people. 

This scholarship was created to support the new generation of young people with a vision to make an impact on their communities. 

The Thomas E. May Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to three high school seniors who reside in either Camden, Gloucester, Cumberland, and Burlington counties with career aspirations that will make a positive change in their community.

Scholarship Criteria:

• Open to students in Camden, Gloucester, Cumberland, and Burlington counties
• Students must be accepted to college or trade school by May 15th, 2026
• $1500 Scholarship
• No GPA requirement
• Personal Reference (non-family)
• Personal Impact 500 Word Essay - The Impact of Hope for our Future: What change are you hoping to bring to your community through your career aspiration?
