Obituary of Peggy Bouyer

Peggy Bouyer, affectionally known as “Peg”, is a beloved daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend. Peg was born May 30th, 1960, in Oconee, Ga, and resided with her mother in Willingboro, NJ. Peg is the second child, and first daughter to Sallie Askew and Willie James Bouyer. Peg was pre-deceased by many loved ones, including her father, aunts, grandmothers, and great-grandparents, all who nurtured her as a young child. Peg has 1 sister Denise Bouyer [Thaddeus] Hargrove, Willingboro, NJ, 4 brothers, Mike [Selene] Bouyer, Queens, NY, Gregory [Glennell] Bouyer, Willingboro, NJ, James Carl [Ann] Bouyer, Queens, NY and Calvin Young Miramar Florida. Although she had no children of her own, she was Auntie-Mom to nephews Joshua Bouyer, Karl Osmond Bouyer, Gregory Bouyer, Jr., Chase Young, and Calvin Jr Young. and nieces, Katrina Leslie Bouyer, Ciara [Jimmy] Thompson, Ashanti Tucker, Khailah Bouyer, Kanesha Young, Chelsie Young, and a host of great-nephews, great-nieces, in-laws and cousins. At 16, Peg moved to Springfield Gardens, NY with her mother, brothers and sister. Never wanting to lose contact, Peg maintained friendships of her childhood in Ga, while she continued to build friendships in NY. She graduated from Springfield Gardens HS in 1978 and completed her undergraduate studies in Social Work at Lehman College in NY. Peg had serval work positions before landing her current job with the US Office of General Services Administration (GSA), where she worked for more than 38 years as a Contract Manager. Peg enjoyed her position and made life-long friends with her co-workers. Up until 9/11, Peg commuted into NYC every day for work. She didn’t mind the 1hour+ commute because she enjoyed working with GSA, where she advanced through several promotions. After 9/11, she worked from home and moved in with her mother in NJ. Of all the things Peg loved to do, spending time with family was her favorite. Peggy was a home body, and took great joy in watching Judge Judy, old westerns, home parties, celebrating holidays, babysitting nieces and nephews, supporting her brothers and sister as well as taking care of her mother. Peg was dedicated, hardworking, selfless and gave generously to anyone in need. She will be missed by her family and cherished by those who knew her, friends, co-workers and neighbors.
