Obituary of Robert Lee McNair

Robert Lee McNair, 90 passed away peacefully on Septmeber 28, 2024 in the Big Oak Nursing Home. He was born Novemeber 3, 1933, in Swainsboro, Ga. to the late Amy & Luther McNair.
At an early age he came to Bridgeton, NJ with his parents. He worked as a farm worker and on Oyster Boats in Greenwich, NJ. He later married Carrie Bell the love of his life.
He continued his employment at the Bridgeton Iran Founelry where he was taught to mold by the late Deacon Walter Martin. When the Founelry closed he became emplyed by Merberk Textile Factory until they closed. Finnaly he became self-employed as a mechanic on cars. His shop was a garage in his back yard. He would always be avaliable to fic your car day or night. Sometimes he was paid others times owed monies.
Robert and his late wife enjoyed having cookouts with friends and family. Robert was a member of the St John Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Curtis Jerkins.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories: four children, Ann Brooks, Bridgeton, NJ; Robert McNair, Bridgeton, NJ, Georganna Robinson, Bridgeton, NJ, Jimmy McNair ( Rocio) Millvile, NJ. Four grandchildren Jimmy McNair Jr., Jaiden McNair, Eliyanah McNair, Alex McNair. One sister, Ida Gilliard, NC, Three brothers; Billy H. Scott (Thelma) Bridgeton, NJ; Rufus McNair, Florida; Luther McNair ( Patricia) Pennsgrove, NJ. Several niceces, nephews, counsin, and friends, a special niece Regina McCollu, that took care of the business for her Uncle Robert and Aunt Carrie. Three sisters-in-laws, Marie Russell, De, Pauline Bennett, Ga. Ida Rose, Ga, Veranell Smith, Ga. One Brother in law John Smith, Nc.
He is predeceased by two brothers Thomas mcNair and James Edward McNair two sistists Sarah Kirkland and Mattie McNair.
