Obituary of Andre White

Please share a memory of Andre to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Life story: Andre White, the second oldest of seven children, was born on April 11, 1951, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Willie and Juanita White. He passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and faith. Born in North Philadelphia, Andre grew up in South Philadelphia, attending Andrew Jackson Elementary, Bartlett Junior High, and South Philadelphia High School. His early years shaped his warm, community-centered spirit, which he carried throughout his life. Andre was a dedicated worker, spending a few years employed at Mr. Paul’s before joining Penn Ventilator Company, where he worked for 19 years until his retirement. He was known for his loyalty and strong work ethic, a hallmark of his character. Outside of work, Andre enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved attending cabarets, playing pinochle, other card games, and even video games. A devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Andre found joy in cheering on his favorite team. His home was often a hub of activity, as he loved to host events for family and friends. One of his specialties was cooking spaghetti and Salmon Patties—a dish that was always a hit at gatherings. Though Andre was a man of simple tastes, his personality left a lasting impact. He enjoyed the comfort of home and was known for his humor, especially when recalling family jokes. If you knew him, you’d also know that he was never one to fly on a plane or engage in long phone conversations, but he was always present for family events. Whether grilling at a barbecue or dancing, Andre’s joyful spirit was contagious. On June 25, 2020, Andre was baptized at the Acts of the Apostle Church in Philadelphia, solidifying his faith in God. Though private in his beliefs, he held a quiet confidence in the Lord, knowing that one day he would be reunited with Him in heaven. Andre was preceded in death by his parents, Willie White Sr. and Juanita White. He leaves behind cherished memories with his children: Don’Yé White, Damon White, Tashanna White(David), Kevin Abdullah and Andre C. White (Caitlin) siblings Lester White, Willie White Jr., Eugene White, Robert White, Milton Wise, Kenneth White , Georgeann Tripp and Nikki White-Saunders as well as grandson’s Jauan and Jaquan Quintero and many family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Andre’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and faith. He will be remembered for the warmth he brought to those around him and the simple joy he found in being with family. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him
