Elena Cortes passed away on November 5, 2024, at the age of 98 in Jacksonville, FL. Born on August 18, 1926, Elena lived a full and vibrant life marked by her deep devotion to family and her remarkable ability to nurture and inspire everyone she met.

Elena was celebrated for her enduring beauty and her extraordinary ability to balance the demands of raising ten children with grace and resilience. Her life was a testament to her strength and the profound love she shared with her family. A cherished figure in her community, Elena's legacy is carried forward by her loving family.

She is survived by her children, Elba Salinas, Diana Neira, Maria L. Cortes, Lucy Cruz, Ramon Cortes, Leonardo Cortes and his wife Nancy, Maria E. Duckett and her husband Michael, and Raul Cortes and his wife Elizabeth. Elena was also a proud grandmother to 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Elena was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andres Cortes; her daughters, Anilda Cortes and Mercedes Cortes; and her grandson, Adrian Cortes.

The family invites friends and relatives to pay their respects at May Funeral Home, located at 46th & Westfield Ave, Pennsauken, NJ. The viewing will be held on November 14th from 6-9pm. A prayer service will be held on November 15th from 9-10am, after which Elena will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
