Carey wasn't only a former coworker, he was a close friend to my Dad, Oliver Thompson who also passed. He was one of the first to reach out to make sure I was good. When I started GSA in 2003, I was surprised to see that Carey was working there because I hadn't seen him in years. When he realized who I was, all we could do was laugh because the way him and my Dad use to carry on was crazy. But the memories are hilarious!! My condolences to the family! Carey was an awesome father, grandfather and friend and he'll definitely be missed. Rest in Paradise Carey!! And I already know you and Tom, which you used to call him are cutting up!! Heaven isn't ready for you two!!

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Carey?
A: My fondest memories of Uncle Carey was that although we didn't see him often due to living in another state, whenever he came around or was on the phone, his smile and his presence was bigger than the room. His personality lit up a room. I never heard an unkind word from him or say anything bad about anyone. His smile and personality was infectious. Corey and Dorian loved the ground he walked on, he was forever present to and for them, and he will be sorely missed.
