Dear Nelson Family,
I am so sorry to hear for your loss of Kevan. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Aletha, my heart and soul are with you in this time of tragedy and sorrow. Your son was called home way too early, but he is in Gods home now. I pray that God rest his precious hands on each of your shoulders as you go through the grieving process. May Kevan be with you always in soul and spirit, that you feel his presence For ever and a day.
May Kevan rest in peace and with Gods Amazing Grace to watch over him as he is now in Gods kingdom.
It is with my deepest sympathy and sorrow and my prayers and thoughts are with all.
God Bless,
Lynnette D. Duckett

Extending our heartfelt sympathy to Althea, Mrs. Nelson and Deannie. Death is never easy, especially when it is your child. Having known Kevan as a student and your family as life long friends, be sure you are not alone sharing this sorrow. He was a special young man. One that Damiso and I will never forget. Be Strong! Never forget the good moments and even some of the stressful ones...Keep Kevan's memory in your heart! He will be missed here on earth, but Heaven has a good one! Wealways say we will keep in touch. Its even more important that we do so now. God Bless.

I will miss and think about everyday. Although all this does not make much sense and is hard to accept, I feel some comfort thinking you are watching over us. Jah could not have a sweeter angel. Your Mother, Grandmother, and Family are in my prayers. I wish we could just go back to the care free hallways of Delsea High School. And I will make that soccer team for you. I am pregnant again so im on my way and if it is a boy I am going to name him Kevan in memory of one of the best friends I could have ever had. I love you <3

Biggz, words can not express how much I miss you!! We have been really good friends since 7th grade and never once have you left my side. You always had my back and were the true meaning of what a best friend is and was. I will always remember our table talks in lunch and you carrying around you brown paper bag with a half eating lunch!! Our random convos and text messages, but most of all just you being there whenever I needed someone to talk to.. Your laugh, your smile, your crazy advice and even crazier logic I will forever cherish. I never thought in a million years I'd be saying farewell to you, but God needed you more than we did!! There has not been a day that has gone by that I don't think of you, or want to pick up the phone and call or text you. This is the hardest ever to deal with. I know you would want me to be strong and I'm trying Biggz... I'm gonna watch Shottas and think of you always!! From braiding your hair, to hanging out at the house, to the mall and movie trips, to you taking your shoes off and locking the door behind you when you came over (my mom still finds that funny) it all will be great memories forever in my mind!! I love you always Kevan and I miss you dearly my friend!! YOUR FOREVER IN MY HEART BIGGZ!! Love your Bestie Phee

When I met you and through your younger years, I always thought you were "a good kid." I hadn't seen you for a while, but when I saw you the last few years and last Christmas, I realized that you turned into a fine young man. Always kind, always respectful, you're a model citizen that young people everywhere should aspire to be. We will all miss you very, very much. Sending all of our love to you and your family.

Kevan,
I had the pleasure of meeting you through my daughter Yani. You were always a gentleman. God felt like it was time to bring his child home to be with him. May you rest in peace and fly on the wings of an angel. You will forever be under the watchful eyes of the Lord. Blessings to your family. My arms are embracing you as you pass from one life to another.
