The Bible at First John 4:8 states that, "God is love." Seeing one's loved one suffer and die is not a loving thing. Because this is so painful, it cannot be from God. The perfect man, Adam, disobeyed Jehovah and since we are his offspring, we inherited sin, sickness and eventual death. However, our Creator is so loving that he made provision for Adam's offspring. That provision is the ransom sacrifice of his son, Jesus.(John 3:16) Jesus' perfect life put the scales of justice back in balance. He was resurrected according to Acts 17:31 and this furnished a guarantee that others of mankind would be resurrected, also. More important, God's original purpose for man to live forever will be realized.(Revelation 21:4) There is much comfort to be gained from the scriptures. It is God's word. The condition of the dead and the resurrection is important to understanding the outworking of God's purpose for the earth.
