Obituary of Edna Clemmons
Edna Clemmons was born on February 26, 1946, in Catawba, North Carolina to the late Lester Sr. and Mariah Mungro. She was joined in holy matrimony to Milton Clemmons on February 1, 1969. She worked at Taj Mahal Casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey for over twenty one years until she retired.Edna accepted Christ at an early age. She was an active member of New Bethel A.M.E. Church right up to the moment of her unexpected illness. She served on the Missionary Board as well as being a Senior Usher. She adored her church family and often used her favorite saying of …"You best not make me late for service!”, or “Hurry up! Mr. Joe’s coming to get me!”… Edna truly enjoyed travelling to see her family in Alabama and other states.Edna Clemmons departed this earthly life after an unexpected illness on October 1, 2017 while at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, New Jersey. She leaves to cherish her memory… one son; Christopher Paul Clemmons (Denise) of Vineland, New Jersey, four daughters; Barbara Gordon (Flex) of Georgia, Mariah Watson (Bernard) 9of Calhoun, Alabama, Patricia and Jennifer Clemmons both of Vineland, New Jersey, one beloved sister; Darkie Robinson (Issac) of Pleasantville, New Jersey, two brothers; Abraham Mungro of Maiden, North Carolina and Michael Harris of New York, two brothers-in-law: Napoleon Clemmons (Leila) of Milledgeville, Georgia and Jerry Clemmons of Douglas, Georgia, five sisters- in –law, Leila , Louse, Imogene and Beulah Clemmons of Georgia and Carrie Mungro of Montgomery, Alabama.Eight grandchildren… Brandon Gordon, Faleesha Gordon, Maurice Watson, Christopher Clemmons, Jr. , Christian Clemmons, Bernard
Watson, Jr. Jaiden Barnes, Jai’da Barnes, as special friend of many years and riding partner; Darlene Pennwell of Millville, New Jersey and a host of nieces, nephews and family members and friends.Edna was preceded in death by her beloved husband (Milton Clemmons); her grandparents; Darkie and Wiley McCall, two brothers; Lester and William Mungro, one very best friend; Annie Jones and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting plants.
