Obituary of Lorraine J James

Lorraine Janice James departed this life to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Samaritan IPU in Mount Holly, New Jersey.  She was born on June 14, 1937 in Pennsylvania to the late Alice R. Mallard and was the only child. 

She graduated from Overbrook High School in June of 1955 and went on to be a sales associate at John Wanamaker.  On April 28, 1961, she wed the late Joseph L. James.  After her marriage, she moved to Willingboro, NJ and was a homemaker.  In the 1970s she began teaching at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School.  Lorraine loved teaching and children, and was an avid servant to her community.  Some hobbies she enjoyed included shopping, cooking, and laughing with her friends and family.  She was a sweet woman with an infectious laugh who was a joy to be around.  She will continually be loved by friends and family. 

She leaves to carry on her memories, her daughter Lorlaina (George) Funderburk of North Carolina; daughter, Shyra Bennett of Lumberton, NJ and son Joseph (Briah) James.  She is also survived by her sister in law, Alpha Andrews of Willingboro, NJ and niece Kimberly George of Willingboro, NJ, along with her eight grandchildren, cousins and family members.
