In Loving Memory of Glossie Mae Holmes

Glossie was born on April 15, 1927 to the late Odessa Wall Martin and Will Martin. Glossie entered the gates of heaven on November 25th, 2018.

Glossie was born and raised in Wadesboro NC. She received her education from North Carolina Public School System. She met and married the late Samuel Holmes. She also had a twin sister whom she adored and one brother. She loved her children and her grandchildren. She enjoyed family, friends and going to church and most of all she loved praising the Lord. She always had a kind word to say to encourage someone.  Some of her favorite sayings was, “God will make the crooked things straight” & “Keep up the good work and God will keep blessing you.”

In her early adult life Glossie worked for Campbell Soup where she met her husband.

Glossie accepted Jesus Christ in the early 80’s under the leadership of the late Bishop Carlyle & Mother Mary Tarte. She also served under the late Pastor Arnetha Thompson & Co Pastor Samuel Tarte. She served as the vice president of the mother board and during her time with the ministry member of the senior choir.

Glossie was preceded in death by her late parents, Odessa Wall Martin & Will Martin, husband Samuel Holmes, Sister Ruth, and Brother Charles Martin. She leaves to cherish her memory her five children, Eugene Jackson Martin (Ann), Glen Martin, Elizabeth Holmes, Juanita Holmes, & Cecil Holmes. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends.
