Church Resolution
In Loving Memory of Kevin Harden
No matter what your trials are, or how big your mountain seems; The Lord is there to see you through. So if your grief seems hard to bear, and you know not what to do the One who loves you most of all will be there to see you through. We, the members of University Baptist Church, want the family to know that our hearts are with you as you gather to bid a Christian good-bye to our brother in the Lord, Kevin Harden.
WHEREAS, Kevin Harden, was received into the fellowship of University Baptist Church on September 7, 2014; he was accepted into the church fellowship having confirmed his faith in Jesus as Savior and being assured of the forgiveness of his sins through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus (Acts 4:12).
WHEREAS, following Kevin Harden’s membership at University Baptist Church, he demonstrated his faith in Jesus through service in helping meet the needs of the community (Ephesian 2:8-10).
WHEREAS, Kevin Harden further demonstrated his faith in the Lord by seeking to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus (2 Peter 3:18)” through the study of the Holy Scriptures. He faithfully attended weekly worship even up to the days prior to his death.
WHEREAS, the Scriptures speak of death as a “departure (2 Tim. 4:2)” it is therefore our confidence that Kevin Harden’s soul has “departed” to be in the presence of the Lord Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:6) and into the company “of the living God…to myriads of angels, to the general assembly and church of the first-born who are enrolled in heaven (Hebrews 12:22-23).
WHEREAS, Jesus, having conquered death, has promised to return and raise His church from the dead, it is therefore our confidence that when the “Lord descends from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)” Kevin Harden will be raised to eternal life and to share in the glory with all the saints of God.
WHEREAS, we therefore ask the Holy Spirit to season Kevin’s family and friends grief with the “exceeding great and precious promises (2 Peter 1:4)” of the Holy Scriptures. We furthermore seek the Father to encourage and console all with His presence and His incomprehensible peace (Philippians 4:7).
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we embrace the family for we have a common bond through our faith in the Lord Jesus that connects us now and through all eternity.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that although we cannot be present with you on Saturday, February 9, for Kevin’s service in New Jersey, we will have a period of official remembrance to be observed in morning worship at University Baptist Church, Tampa FL, on Sunday, February 10, 2019.
To the family of Kevin Harden, we know your loss is deep and your sorrow is great, but we want you to know that we share in your sorrow, but more importantly, we recognize that this loss is Heaven’s Gain.
Humbly submitted on this 8th day of February 2019, by Pastor Donald Grantham on behalf of the Kevin’s Church Family, at University Baptist, Tampa, FL,
