Life Story of Rev. Dr. Willie Mae Robinson

Willie Mae Griffin was born in Charity Hospital to Beatrice Griffin in Savannah, Georgia on the morning of Saturday February 13, 1937.   She was stillborn and after being declared dead, she began coughing and lived for 82 years.  Willie Mae was raised by her grandparents, the Reverend John Angus Griffin and Nola Mae Griffin.  Willie Mae, affectionately called “Tootsie” by her closest family and friends was an only child.

She attended Henry Street Elementary, Cuyler Junior High School, and later Alfred E. Beach High School in Savannah, Georgia.  At Beach High School, Willie Mae was a majorette!  She loved twirling and throwing that baton in the air as she marched to the beat of the high school band.

In 1953 she welcomed to her life a baby boy and named him Clarence Walker Griffin.  Later she married Joseph Robinson and from this union came two children, Joseph Jr. and Rhonda Ronay.

Willie Mae grew up in a Christian home. She was baptized and received Christ as her personal Lord and Savior when she was a very young girl. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and shared His Good News with all who she came into contact with.

In 1990, Willie Mae answered the call on her life.  She attended Jamison   Bible College in Philadelphia Pa. and was ordained as a Pastor.  She     attended International Christian University, Chesapeake, Virginia and graduated with several ministerial diplomas, a Bachelor’s Degree, a    Master’s Degree in  Theology, and an Earned Doctorate in Divinity.

Willie Mae went on to start a church in her home and eventually moved it to Williamstown, N.J.  She also taught for Jamison Bible College as a Professor of Biblical Studies.  Willie Mae knew the call on her life was to teach and preach The Word of God for the equipping of the Saints.  She poured into, ordained, and raised up many spiritual daughters and sons in the gospel.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by Joseph Robinson.

She leaves to love her forever and cherish her memory three beloved        children; Clarence, Joseph Jr., Rhonda, and her special son, Pastor Bobby Jones, nine grandchildren; Clarence III, Shatia, David, Aaron, Byron, Taryn, Dominique, Jayla, Zaria, and four great grandchildren; Layla, Jay Jay, Donte, and Marcus, her beloved cousins, Ruby Dell, Carrie Bell, Ethel (Tiny), Charles, Larry, and a host of nieces nephews, spiritual    children, and friends.
