Obituary of Sharlene White

Sharlene White, affectionately known to many as “Peachie", was peacefully called home in the early morning  hours of  August 24th, 2019 in her Somerdale, NJ home.

Sharlene, was born  on October 6th, 1947 to  the late Clarence Hood Sr. and Miriam Hackett.  She graduated from the Camden City public school system, attended business school and  earned her Associates degree.  In her early years she worked for Union Carbide Corporation as an executive secretary for 10 years. She was also a dedicated Support Services secretary and union shop steward at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New    Jersey (UMDNJ) in Stratford and retired after 17 years of service.

In 1980 Sharlene accepted Jesus as her personal savior and was forever changed. She became a dedicated member of Calvary Bible Tabernacle and over the next 40 years her Christian life would influence countless souls, leading many of them to Christ. In February of 1999, Sharlene was united in holy matrimony to Daniel White. They joined Living Word Bible Fellowship of Blackwood, where she served as an active   member of the LWBF Food Bank ministry, Grace Christian   Assembly Women's Bible study and StoneCroft Ministry.

Sharlene was preceded in death by her parents, Miriam and Clarence Hood Sr. and her brother Clarence Hood Jr.

Sharlene leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband Daniel White; loving daughter Dawn Candia; step-children Dannette, Veronica, Victoria, Karen and Fred; beloved sisters Tracie Hood and Toya Mitchell (Clarence) ; granddaughters  Nicole Candia, Sequoia Vandenberg (Craig) and Fynazia Candia; great-grandchildren Myla and Orion Vandenberg, Leilani and Lauryn; and a host of nieces, nephews,  friends and a very special aunt, Alice Wilson.
