During her early childhood years she was very much influenced and shaped by the unique and special culture that was typical of the South, where most residents were struggling, but had proud working class families, who saw to it that love, loyalty and joy of life bound are the children and families into a special love that still exist today. There was a sense of sharing and operating as a unit in the small town of Old Fort, NC. She had many fond memories of family and church events and outings. At age 9 she with her family came to Camden. Gwen attended Camden Public Schools and graduated from Woodrow Wilson HS in 1964. She also attended Harris School of Business. Gwen started working at NJ Bell Telephone at age 16. She worked for RM Hollingshead in A/C Receivable and Payable. She worked as Head Teller at Bank of NJ; Macys for 20 years and finished her working career at Sbars. She thoroughly enjoyed working and meeting wonderful friends that she enjoyed throughout her life. She always knew she was blessed with knowing and learning from and enjoying her many wonderful and special friendships. She knew the beauty and joys of the world and learned to deeply appreciate All blessings…large and small. She was blessed to have traveled many places and to have experience many cultures. She learned that the real key to enjoying and appreciating life “is to be truly present in our own lives” and to be liberated from the past and future. Live life each day and take from each day “are the goodness and kindness that come your way and pass them on. “Learn to know the Joy of Peace” and to always, always be thankful to our Lord and Savior.
