Obituary of Saul Hernandez Sr.

SAUL HERNANDEZ SR. OBITUARY On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Saul Hernandez Sr. of Camden, New Jersey passed away at the age of 66. Saul was born on May 23, 1953 in Chicago, IL to Marcos Hernandez and Perfecta Santiago. He graduated from high school and upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army. In 1975, he worked in Camden, NJ fixing boats for many years. He then worked at Aluminum Shapes in Delair, NJ where they start the production process of melting scrap. His follow on job was at La Paleta in Camden, NJ. In his younger years, Saul enjoyed roller skating and bowling and he loved to play dominoes, and shoot pool. He was known for his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit. Saul was preceded in death by his father, Marcos Hernandez, his mother, Perfecta Santiago and his stepson, Angel Cruz. He is survived by his daughter Maria Hernandez and his son, Saul Hernandez Jr., his stepchildren Luis Cruz, Emiliano Cruz, Nancy Cruz, his granddaughters, Janaycie and Izabell, grandsons, Ruben, Gabriel and Saul III, great granddaughters, Jamyah and Kylee, great grandson Rocky, his six sisters Alicia Hernandez, Elizabeth Hernandez, Maribel Hernandez, Solangel Hernandez, Maria Luisa Hernandez Clark, Selines Santiago, his five brothers Marcus Hernandez, Ramon Hernandez, Benjamin Hernandez, Johnny Santiago, Juan Santiago, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at May Funeral Home, 46th and Westfield Avenue, Pennsauken, New Jersey at a later date to be determined after COVID-19. Flowers may be sent to May Funeral Home, Pennsauken, NJ when a date has been announced.
