Please share a memory of Shirley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Shirley Ann Johns , born September 17, 1948 to the late Elizabeth L. Bishop, went home to glory on May 13, 2020 at the age of 71. She has been reunited with her grandmother Amanda Gregory (Nanny), brother George (Gus), and late husbands Lenwood James and Jackie Johns. She was educated in the Gloucester and Camden County school districts and graduated in 1968 from Camden High School. She was a valued and loyal employee of Campbell Soup for over 20 years and also an employee of Aluminum Shapes until her retirement. Shirley lived a full, enjoyable life never willing to let any moss grow under her feet and definitely not taking any wooden nickles while doing it. Making the most of what the day offered. She was a member and sister to the American Legion Post #473. Along with the members of her Post, she contributed to many charities and causes in her hometown of Camden. She found daily enjoyment in discovering new ways to playing and often winning the New Jersey State lottery. It was rare to find her without a smile on her face and a kind word for her friends and loved ones. . Shirley will be forever loved and missed by those she leaves behind; her two beloved daughters Cheryl L. King (Eddie Sr.) and Kamar S. Hunter (Jason); three grandchildren Danika, Eddie Jr, and Kayla; two great grandsons Branden and Elijah; 4 sisters, Wilette Veronica, Amanda (Garry), and Mary (Robert), 2 brothers Robert (Donna), Charles, and host of beloved family and friends .Shirley touched the lives and hearts of everyone around her often willing to give and do for others.. We carry her love, her spirit, and her memory with us always.
