Obituary of Donna A Hamlet-Pretlow

Donna Arabella Hamlet-Pretlow was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey on March 5, 1954 to Jean Hamlet Gould of Bridgeton. She was preceded in death by her father.    She attended public school in Bridgeton, New Jersey and graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1972.   Donna Hamlet-Pretlow matriculated from Rowan University (Glassboro State College) in 1976 where she earned a degree in Criminal Justice.  Donna has worked 44 years for the County of Cumberland and the State of New Jersey.  She was the loving mother of Nicole R. Showell and Maurice Showell and Larry D. Pretlow, Jr.   She was a loving grandmother to Jayden, Imani, Darnell James, Kai, and Zaya.   She is the loving sister of Dianna and the beloved niece of Uncle Jeffrey Thompson.  She was a beloved Aunt to Jason Hamlet, Jordan and Mariah Dennis, Jayda Hamlet, and Aston James Martin.  She was an avid reader, and loved to watch the history channel and loved researching family history.  Donna also loved hosting family dinners, and loved being in the company of family and friends.   Donna loved to travel and especially to Italy.  She had the opportunity to travel to Italy with her son Larry and cousin John Michael Thompson.   She always talked about traveling back to the beautiful Mediterranean country, eating the delicious food, and spending time with friendly people in Italy.    In addition to her mother Jean Hamlet Gould.  Donna will be cherished and remembered by her family, friends, and co-workers.  Her legacy will be carried on by her children and grandchildren, her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and they will make her proud.   Donna can be remembered as loving her family and her friends.
