Obituary Marilyn Minerva Gaymon was born to the late William J. Gaymon and Minerva Gaymon Roane on December 1, 1949 at Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. The oldest of four daughters, she was predeceased by her youngest sister, Vera Gaymon Bell. Marilyn departed this life on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. Marilyn was educated in the Cherry Hill School Systems and obtained her GED from Woodrow Wilson High School. She later attended Camden County College and was on the Dean’s List, obtaining her Associates Degree. Marilyn loved to cook and was an avid reader. A little-known fact, she had a beautiful singing voice. She was employed as a Home Health Aide which she enjoyed immensely, and was able to find purpose comforting end of life clients. Ultimately, her illness prevented her from continuing on with that work. Marilyn was proudest of the son born to her and the late George E. Butler. She was devoted to her son, Jamie Kyron Gaymon, the love of her life. She was his Number One Cheerleader! Marilyn accepted the Lord at an early age at Asbury United Methodist Church under the Late Reverend Charles W. Cannon. She later attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Merchantville, New Jersey under Pastor Gregory F. Rhett. She leaves to Cherish her Memory her beloved son, Jamie Gaymon (companion Samaiyah Clayton), two sisters Frances Gaymon Shaw (John) and Feleta Gaymon Owens; nieces Monique Owens Thomas and Simone Owens; nephews Frank Truitt, Jr. and Terrence Owens; grand Nieces Diamond Truitt and Alaya Truitt; grand Nephew Zion Fortune; Special Devoted Friends Val Davis, Faye Chatman, Fernanda Smith and Kenneth Jones; and a Host of Relatives and Friends.
