Please share a memory of Guillermo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Guillermo aka “Don Willie” or “Willie Chon” Perez was born December 24, 1935 in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. He was of 1 of 6 children; 4 sisters, Santa, Carmen, Chave & Iris (predeceased) and 1 brother Luis (predeceased). He relocated to New York at the age of 31 then moved to Camden NJ in 1979 with his family.
“Don Willie” was married to Rosael Rivera Perez for 56 years and had six children: Nelson Perez, Guillermo Perez, Jr. (Marie) Fernando Perez (Vicky), Danilsa Perez (Jose), Idali Perez-Church (Tracy) and Paul Perez. He also had 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Willie worked hard to provide for his family. He was a generous, caring, respectable and passionate man; especially when it came to his family. He helps and feeds anyone that comes to his door. He was known for catering events and parties, cooking his famous “Pernil” and Pasteles throughout the year. “OH” let’s not forget his “arroz con dulce” and “coquito”.
We can all remember him being the life of the party; getting his “dance” on. He also enjoyed watching Baseball, Horse Racing, Playing Dominoes and his “Scratchies”.
Your presence, beautiful smile and your love for cooking and feeding the whole world will be truly missed
To My Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Brother, Father-in-law and friend; you will be missed but never forgotten. You will always be in our hearts.
